Why Tile?

Ceramic tile is one of the most versatile floor coverings available. It is not only durable and aesthetically-pleasing, but it’s also extremely functional, free of harmful irritants, ecologically sustainable, and resistant to stains, water, scratches, and fading. However, one of the most significant benefits of tile is how easy it is to clean – and harsh chemicals are not required. Generally, all it takes is a bit of sweeping, wiping with water, and drying. What’s not to love about that?

Ceramic tile has additional health and hygiene benefits, including the fact that it’s hypoallergenic, antibacterial, and there are options available that boast antimicrobial properties that can suppress and even destroy harmful microorganisms, such as viruses, mold, fungi, and bacteria. It contains no volatile organic compounds (VOC) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC), no plastic, or formaldehyde. It’s non-toxic and made from naturally occurring materials, which makes it suitable for both you and the environment. The materials used to make ceramic tile are often sourced within 500 miles of manufacturing facilities, significantly reducing the emissions and energy associated with long-distance shipping.

With all of those outstanding benefits, it leaves us to wonder…why in the world would ever choose anything other than tile?
